John,
My table size is 49" X 97" if you want to add that info to the spreadsheet. No special comments that I can think of. |

John,
When you update the spreadsheet for my number #12...... Please add that I am one of the first to build with preground rails. Thanks for maintaining the Serial Numbers. |

John, thanks for keeping the record.

Table #10 is 100" x 50", and I use a gecko 540.

Just for the record...my MM can cut a sheet 2.44 x 1.22 m. I think I am the first brave one to use Chinese steppers ( Motion King ) ungeared. Total cost +/- R 22 000.00 [US$ 2 200]. Using old 202 Gecko's and an old Makita router. Thanks

Kobus, I think yours can cut wider than 1.22m [48"]. With luck, (maybe accident, maybe design) you can probably cut 1.375 [54"] wide. That is a half sheet of MDF split lengthwise - a very desirable gantry length in SA.

For table size, each builder should state the final X and Y usable cutting capacity, since a builder might have rounded up, here and there, and thereby ended up with more X and Y cutting capacity. Does that seem reasonable? So, Kobus, do you want to revise your table size?
Also, Kobus' entry update raises an important question. Do we want to add a column indicating the "cost to build" each MechMate? I've noticed some builders stating their cost in response to a question. I'm sure some builders have not tracked their cost. Also, since most of these are a "labour of love," there is no quantified labour cost. What do you think? As for the mechanics of adding additioinal columns, it is no problem in Google Docs. But as Gerald's reproduction of the Google Spreadsheet, above, illustrates, there could be truncation issues as the spreadsheet gets wider. Regards, John |

When it comes to troubleshooting, the most useful data for me is:
Motor type number Pinion size Motor wiring PS voltage Motor tuning settings Mach3 or something else PMDX-122 or something else DP20, module 1 rack, or something else RAM in the PC and its speed etc etc . . . . which becomes a monstrous database by itself! (could be added to a user's profile for the forum.....) John, suggest you keep it simple before this thing escalates way off the screen. |

Hi John, OK I measured it and my Y will cut up to 1560 mm. That is pushing the Y-Car right to the end on the gantry. My X stay the same 2440 mm max.
So change it on the spreadsheet please. Thank's Kobus |

Thanks John (Sweeden needs a spelling correction)
Also, we learnt that Chuck's 20' machine has been cutting for some months: http://www.mechmate.com/forums/showthread.php?t=752 |

Serial #18 has been AWARDED to Jayson, of Horsham, Australia. It was a VERY FAST BUILD, and the First Serial Numbered MechMate in Australia. The updated Builder's Log is here.
That makes 5 machines being awarded Serial Numbers in the month of January. WOW, can we keep up this pace? Regards, John |

Serial # 19 has been awarded to Greg in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. (This is not a mistake...Greg sent me an PM with details. Thanks Greg)
It's an impressive machine sporting 14" of Z Travel using a Linear Slide. The updated Builder's Log is here. Regards, John |

Gerald,
I think you need to add another requirement to getting a serial number for the machine. Besides having it cut, painted Blue (in most cases) and the MechMate logo must be on the machine, I think you should require that a Mug shot must appear on the mug page. |
