hi all.
I have some problems with my mach3 setup ...!
it is about 2 things, the first thing is the limit settings.
when I tell mach3 that my table is: 190cm x-and y-90cm the settings don't match.
when I jog on x Axis the 190cm becomes about 7 cm in Mach and about 3 on the y Axis.
it may be due to my pinien wheel is 40 teeth and not 20 as I've seen most people use...??
the second thing is when Im setting up the port's and pin's, the only way I can get motors to move. is by setting:

x-axsis step pin:3 dir pin:2 step port:1 dir port:1
y-axsis step pin:5 dir pin:4 step port:1 dir port:1
z-axsis step pin:7 dir pin:6 step port:1 dir port:1
a-axsis (slaved on x) step pin 3 dir pin:2 step port:1 dir port:1

(dir low activ)-(step low activ) all enabled.!

here is my mach3xml
by the way is almost finished with my amazing mechmate :)

Kikolaj,

A Axis setup is Step 9 Dir 8 the other part is correct.

Under Slave Axis, you do have A Axis for X.

Did you calculate the correct steps for motor tuning? It is based on the size of the pinion. You must have that correct. Mine is 3055.775 for 30 Teeth.

Under Homing / Limits, Both X and A Axis are checked for Reveresed. Home Reverse also needs to be checked for both.

To work correctly you have to have run "REF ALL HOME" to home the machine.

See if that helps.

Thanks.......
can you point in the direction where I can find the formula you use to calculate steps per. mm to use in limit's setup.... :)
I've been looking high and low for it.
I use direct without gear reduction.

Nikolaj,

Look at this thread:
