I feel like im asking a dumb :o question, but how do I mount a router base or a spindle to the z plate, do i need to drill more holes on the plate, or do i use the drilled hole already in the spine of the plate?

Hector,
You need a router bracket that fits the router that you are going to use. The bracket usually has a plate that mounts to the Z plate.

Remove 4 of the countersunk screws shown on left, drill right through (remove thread from rectangular tube), and screw right through as shown in the center.
Or, use the quick-change method with one screw:
