5 phase stepper motor.
Hi, does gecko controller support 5 phase stepper motor?

Look at their website
http://www.geckodrive.com , but for a multiphase (more than two) you need a different driver than gecko I think. They are only 2 phase bipolar drives. |

I think you will find it hard to get a good affordable driver for 5 phase motors. There was some discussion on this forum about that a few times. The recomendations were to get some good motors that work well with the gecko drivers. See the motor selection thread for starters.

If you plan to use these motors, you should consider the cost of it drivers, my intuition says a bipolar motor + driver will cost you less than a 5 phase drive for them. Pablo |
