Good going there...I like the picture in post#4...on the pants the words FATAL....the person welding with bare feet....now THAT is maybe not fatal, but could be painful sometimes...
![]() Are you sure you have enough space for the machine next to the house....when you have 2 x X-axis steppers hanging on there will it fit ? |

Vladimir,
I like your Mill opereator. She looks like a good worker. She needs a stool so she can easily work on the Mill. I thought I didn't have much space. Can you move around on each side with the motors on? |

That is a funny looking spindle....to me it looks like a normal electrical motor with a collet? What make is that and how much did it cost ?

Did the Little lathe operator made your wheels ?

Vladimir, your pictures are a lot of help - especially the detailed washer assy pics, G' we need to have a construction gallery with subtopics covering the pictures of individual assemblies.
no no I don't volunteer to do it ![]() RGDS IRfan |

Are you going to run it at normal speed, or are you going to push its speed up with a Variable Frequency Drive?

That is very interesting! Have you guys tried this before? What about the bearings? Can the rotor survive the centrifugal force? (Podemos sobreviver o rotor da força centrífuga?)

I will also following this NEW Spindle closely...did you have to modify it to take the collet or did it come like that ?

Kobus, a "spindle" is no more than a standard 3-phase motor with better bearings and a smaller diameter (longer length) rotor to stop it from flying apart at high speed.

Thanks for the info Vladimir...looks like you are an old hand at this CNC thing.
Two more things.. 1..did you put thread on the motor shaft ? or how did you fix your chuck ? 2.. How many millimeters / inches is that motor in diameter ? Looked at your movie...what a sweet sound. |
