So cutting this project out was the easy part. Staining and Sealing with Shellac was far more time consuming than anticipated. The little guy loves it because he has some freedom (Mom is not hovering over him) and its helping him pull himself up/ walking around. I knew it was going to be pretty sturdy but I have to say it holds up really good. He will not knock this one over. My 90lb Labador tried and failed miserably.

Ok. That is just plain awesome in it's simple perfection. Wish I'd finished my MM before my youngest was already walking. Which was years after my oldest walked straight into my shop at 4 years old and turned on the table saw - blade was down, I was there, but it scared the hell out of both of us - that lovely green button is at eye level.
Enjoy the little fella while he's little - he'll be running your shop in ten short years. |

Russell good to see you are making things. Your little one is getting big! My 15 month young daughter just started walking and now the work starts.
Like your speakers too. I made a set using 2" material weighing 180lbs with drivers installed. |

Just was linked back to your build log in another forum and thought it was funny that the word is getting spread out there regarding your playpen.

Some of the fun stuff I have made over the last 9 months
Hey everyone sorry for not updating more often but between real work and machine work I have very little time to get on here anymore.
Some of the photos will show I have turned into a Plaque Maker. I have made over 300 of the H60 Helos for doors and going away plaques. I have made 60+ Corn Hole Boards (This is easy money if your near a college) 20 Growth Charts 5 Coast Guard Anchors 6 Aircrew wings and the rest is just for me. I will admit the workbench is not my design but has been a great addition to the shop along with the DIY cheap not so easy cyclone. BTW. Everything is made on the MM. I just bought a table saw last week Enjoy the photos. |

Nice work. Do you do any of these plaques or signs in foam?

Nope, most are in veneered mdf or real wood.

Is that a Ron Paulk workbench you have built there? Looks familiar |

Nils,
Family is doing great. We are all busy but its been a lot of fun these last few months as the little guy now my little helper when the dust isnt flying. Bruce, It is the Ron Paulk bench and the MM made easy work of building it. I feel bad every time I watch him start to drill holes or make a jig for the lightening holes. and if anyone is wondering what is going on with the air hose there is over 100 feet on there so I can make it to the back yard. Here is a video of the reel in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kczsvOHcapE Sorry for the phone video. It is based off this guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo84x64rNCU |

Thought it was one of Ron's. I bought his plans with the view to converting them to CNC cut when my MM is up and running. I too cringed at the amount of work Ron did to build his but then again that why we build these monsters, to make our lives easier

Well just to give you an ideal it took 3 sheets of plywood and about 30 minutes to cut it all out.(Top Only) Im thinking about purchasing his Total Workstation Plans as well. I just need a bigger garage.

Look good. I do not know about that table though. I have a hard enough time finding my tools when they are on the top of the table. With that bench I would be losing them under as well!

Russell,
I sent you a PM. You used the saw horse design that you posted. Did you modify it so it would work with the Ron Paul design? |

Care to shed some light on the font or design you used for the initials you cut out?
That looks really cool. I also like the growth "ruler" too...... I'm thinking my wife may have a new baby shower gift. Regards, D. |

Nice work Russel, the second video you linked about the hose reel is working but your one is giving the problem - maybe the privacy setting is set so that no one outside the US can see it?
