Ken, I have a PMDX-122, drivers like yours and EMC. It's a workable setup.
I can help with the basic kitchen table configuration. http://www.mechmate.com/forums/showt...88&postcount=1 |

Thousand thanks Jeff!
Careless of me missing out your thread... Would you care to share how you set your PMDX122 connection in EMC2? Is my PUL/DIR interpretation correct? The non-manderin speaking world uses Step/Dir instead. In EMC2 stepconf, Step Time? is this the t2 in the driver manuals? Step Space? the t3 in the driver manual? Direction Hold? (Completely no idea) Direction Setup? the default is 20,000ns, & now matter how much I change this. it will always go back to 20,000ns I set the Leadscrew pitch to 9.422778, (1:1, 24teeth module 1 spur gear) Thanks in advance Merry X'mas Last edited by KenC; Thu 24 December 2009 at 00:50.. |

Hi Ken, and thanks for the Christmas wishes, I'll check my config tomorrow morning when I get out to the shop.
I will say that my initial "leadscrew pitch" setting came out way wrong. I eventually arrived at a setting by telling the machine to go to x=96 y=48 and measuring the actual travelled distance from x=0 y=0. I used the difference between 107.331 (the hypotenuse of a 48x96 triangle) and the actual measured result as a correction factor. A couple of iterations of this will get you closer than any other method. |

step time 2500
step space 2500 direction hold 20000 direction setup 20000 On the pmdx, jp1 is set for +5v jp2 is set for "always" jp3 is set for "not estop/fault" jp4 is set for "normal" jp5 is set for "out" jp6 is set for "normal" BTW, my leadscrew pitch is .0321039 (7.5:1, 20 tooth pinion) on the stepconfig wizard, I have the x steppers both configured as x with the checkbox marked "reverse" on one.
