Wow!!!! Over 10 years have passed since I saw a genius from Africa at CNCZone was giving away plans for a CNC machine.
I read about all of his improvements at the shopbot forum. I believe I read everything he had posted on the internet.
Gerald seemed to have everything figured out.
At the time I thought it was quite a gamble to spend 5 grand on an effort I might not be up to.
Many hours of sweat, depleted brain cells, bloodied knuckles and gear tracks on several shirt tails went into it.
It has exceeded all my expectations.
The MechMate now has a dedicated room with a 5 hp cyclone dust extractor. It runs on LinuxCNC.
Many thanks to Gerald, for making all this happen.
