folks - I finished Z axis mod's , the reason I took it up was that i observed pitting marks on my 3d carvings, well now they have gone away by 90% , but a bit is left out - I dont exactly know where the problem lies - but sure some day i will sort it out.

Irfan, didn't anybody tell you that you cannot do a job like that with open loop steppers? Were you not supposed to be using servos? How did you fix the marks caused by the lost steps?

Irfan that looks fantastic.

Did you do the 3D model yourself or someone else?

Look forward to pics of it finished.

Ah - yes the work is fantastic - but I have just used the relief and changed a couple of tools and waited it out

The true credit goes to my Artcam guru for the relief and Mechmate (our beloved G') for executing it out.

Does your Artcam guru sell these type of files. I am sure there are a few of us that would like to buy these types of files. Let me know please.

Irfan,
Very impressive work.

If you only need to flat the other side, I would suggest using one of these. I use it for all materials including wood and MDF a lot with very good results. it has very good control over the amount of material removal. My sander is 300mm in diameter.

If you need contoured or pocketed other side, I think you can make a gypsum replica and use it as jig, in order to machine the inside.

Irfan,

When you set up the material size, did you reference the Z to the top of the material or the bottom of the material. If it is at the top, use the bottom. See if that doesn't fix the problem.
