Any open high-traffic forum needs moderators to keep spammers and obnoxius stuff out. I can't do it alone all the time - I do try and lead a life away from the keyboard.
It is very rare that someone posts something here that is completely out of line, and so it is not really a big deal to have, or to be, a moderator. The best moderation is the type that goes completely unnoticed.
6 of the most regular visitors and posters to this forum have been given the ability to delete and move posts, etc. Offensive stuff (& spam) to be deleted, and sales promotion stuff to be moved to the "Market Place" forum. That is about it - nothing should involve raising blood pressures.
Previously I only had moderators while I was away, but these 6 guys were "re-activated" today again because I need to spend more time in the workshop. Have an order for 4 MechMates and can't build them while looking at the forum!
