Anyone used these ?

Yes, I have used them.
They are fine for special use - the composite plastic nail, doesn't hold stain, but fine if left in a painted product. The video shows the machine drilling out the nail after the cut....the challenge is how do you perfectly nail down a board with a nail gun, and put that point back in your tool path do at the end? It's a great special purpose thing...like spoil board to spoilboard or board to sacrificial sled for planing... ...oh, they don't rust and work just dandy on outdoor trim. |

Good to know. Let's see if I can find them in Europe.
I don't think the perfect nail position should be a big issue. I would draw it in my tool path, and run it prior to the cutting just touching the surface with a small bit or pen. Run it again after you are done with a deeper cut. What would be really dandy is adding the nailgun to the z with an offset. Last edited by Fox; Tue 28 October 2014 at 15:35.. |
