Tape Holder from waste area's.

I had a project that ended up with a good amount of waste areas even after nesting. I couldnt just throw it out so I added my own little project to the areas I could.

I needed a tape holder and this is what I came up with. I dont know how long before revision B. but this will work. I would have made the sides 1/4 inch and the spacers 1/2 inch to allow for a smaller foot print. Outside dimension is 7 1/2 inches squared.

Here are the pictures.

That should last a few years...better than the plastic rubbish that one can buy.
Just add a piece of hacksaw blade to cut-off point

Yep,
My waste area "user uppers" are usually push sticks for the tablesaw!

Great thinking Mister.

Kobus, there is already a hacksaw blade in there. I started out with a razor blade and it worked great, but my wife told me she wasnt going to take me to the hospital.

Sean, my Dad has a life time of push sticks and so does a few of the neighbors.

After using it for most of the day I have to say it is kinda nice. The size is starting to grow on me as I can find it faster. The operation is good and can be used 1 handed. Only complaint is because the sides are so thick ( 3/4" ) it makes it kinda awkward to get under the tape.

Russel, nice idea. Maybe try lowering the area where the blade is so the tape comes out more horizontally instead of such an acute angle, if the finger slot is lowered as well that will make it easier to get under the tape (just my 2c )

I saw an article in a wood work mag on a similar idea(manually made of course). They had added a slot in the front to see the "amount left" on the roll and a french cleat on the back. Making them in batches to suit all your tape and hanging them on a wall cleat made an impressive workshop tidy up (always need to tidy the work shop, probably because I never do).
