We can buy primers in different colours. If we want to go for a primer plus 2 top coats brush/roller system, then it helps to go for very contrasting colours. This makes it very obvious if your new coat is covering the previous coat fully. When there is no QC inspector on the job, the contractor will pick the primer colour to match the finish coat colour

The primer is an alkyd primer with a zinc phosphate anticorrosion pigment. It is bright green although it looks yellow on the photo's.

Zinc chromate anticorrosion pigments are not used anymore because they can cause cancer.

Someone changed the title of this tread.

I left the paint business more than 10 years ago, still suffering from some late professional deformation i guess

Making the supports flat and even

This is the method I used to make the supports for the bearings flat and even. Just move the spiderplate with the welded supports across the sandpaper.

Long overdue

Finished the machine quite some time ago. My mechmate is working well and I already did one project for my brother in law who is an optician. I made all his shop presentation stands.

I am very happy how the machine came out.

Get some stickers on it so we can get you a number!

Congrats on a great looking machine. I say go make some dust but by the looks of the spoil board you are already doing that.

This is the stand I build with my Mechmate. The stand is still in unfinished state in this photo. It is now in use in the store of my brother in law.

It is made in green and yellow Valchromat. You can varnish it and it will give an excellent finish.
