Dust Collection Ground Wire

I am currently working on my dust collection duct system. I am currently planning of running a ground wire on the inside of the PVC and flexible hose. I am attaching the wire inside the PVC pipe that will be riding on my Z. At the dust collector end, I was going to screw the other end to the dust collector.

Will this work or do I need to attach the wire to the Z? I was thinking that I did not want to do that.

We have always made sure that the wire is positively attached to a part of the dust collector that is grounded/earthed to the building's ground/earth point via the dc's supply cord.

As for the other end of the wire, ours has been touching the painted metal of the z-axis (wire is bent around the end of the hose and anchored in the hose-clamp). My thinking is that we have a very solid ground/earth cable already tied to a clean point on the z-axis and that is a "superior" ground/earth to anything else that may inadvertantly touch the axis. However, the purist reasoning for avoiding ground loops says the dc wire must not be connected to the z-axis.
