Feed back needed on contactor wiring.

We would like to get some feedback on how we have the disconnect and contactor wired.
Thanks!

Gerald,

This is the first post I have made. I'm Tadeo, the brother of Justin of "Brothers Build Mechmate".

I Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll make the wiring changes to match your diagram. I'm new to wiring, so I used L3 and T3 instead of 13 and 14. Also, I left off the jumper that feeds power to L1 in order to simplify things for my own understanding.

Thanks again,

Tadeo

Been to cold to finish painting!

Slow progress, hope to finish by the end of the month. Controller all put together need some warm days to paint table and x rails.

My brother, Tadeo is a field engineer and has been in the Congo for a month. He should be back this week and hopefully we can get this beast going before my third baby gets here.

I can smell that fresh paint from here!

Did you leave an air gap between the control box and the wall so that cooling air can convect up the back surface as well?

I am sure that will be okay - these boxes don't get as hot as I first thought. (My boxes are mounted on 40x40 [1.5x1.5"] vertical "studs")

Justin,

Looks great and it looks like you have a great helper and future MM builder.

Now, slap on some motors and wire that baby up.

Congratulations Justin!

You and Tadeo were, and continue to be inspirations, to me on these machines.

That is one sharp looking MechMate you've got there.

Again, congratulations on the motor movement. Your sleepless nights are just beginning (Although with a new baby on the way, you'd better get used to that!)

Good Luck and thanks for the updates!

-Jeff

Justin,

Gerald awarded the Serial # too soon. You didn't paint your controller box.

Congratulations on number 24 from #12.

Cute helpers you got there. It won't be long before they will be running the machine and Dad will have trouble getting to use it.

Gerald, the builds are starting to pile up.

Justin,

Congratulations on Serial #24. A fine looking MechMate...AND family too.

The updated Builder's Log is here.

Your first post was mid-last year, but you already had the table built. For the record, when did you actually start your build? I'd like to add this information to the spreadsheet. Also, if you would like to add anything to the Comments, please let me know.

Regards,
John

Thanks Guys for the kind words.

I want to make sure everyone knows that I could not have done this project without the help of everyone here and most important my brother Tadeo and one other investor. We started ordering parts in August of 2007.

The control box was a find on the side of the road and is a Rittall (stainless steel). I have some tables that are also stainless so I might not paint the control box.

Now the real work of dialing it in and learning software!
