Irfan,

Is that a triditional design that you used or one you came up with?

Irfan, I am interested to know exactly what ' white metal putty ' is. Any trade name or website that describe it. Will it not shrink and fall out later ?

Irfan,

Doesn't putty shrink when dry ?
I am asking becoz I am using other material sometimes there is gap, which can be filled with putty or putty may be used as inlay material.
Nice work.

Actually sharma - I don't know much about why he opted for that - I am aware of the fact that putty shrinks, btw what material do you use?

I was trying to upload images when you replied.

I use bone pieces, supplied to me in sheet form glued on board. Which is then cut as inlay material. see example.

Nice Irfan, just to think a couple of years ago we used a fret saw to do those cutouts.Kobus I use a two part epoxy to do those type of fillings,if i work with valchromat I mix some of the dust with the epoxy and once it dries out and it is sealed you can`t notice that it is epoxy and it doesn`t shrinks ( the liquid type )

Problems in 2d cuts

Does anyone know why I am getting this sort of cuts?

I upgraded my Z with linear slides and yet face this problem??

it is solved to a large extent - but

is it the curves in the artwork, or do I need to use a different post processor,

or is it that I need to convert the curves to some sort of continuous curves???

or do i need a different Mach setting???

please help me.

Not too sure what is going on there. I seemed to have that problem at one time but it slips my memory.

What software are you using? Sometimes when I import stuff from Autocad into Aspire, Autocad will creat a bunch of little nodes around curves. I then have to have Aspire smooth the curves with one of its features..

But I think your problem lies in Mach if that is what you are using. All your curves lines are just too symmetrical to be a hardware problem, at least that is what I see. Seems like you need to check your "CV" settings in mach.

I will keep on thinking about what might be the prob.

James

May be CV setting in mach - i am thinking of same thing James, what is your CV setting?

I am using Artcam, what utility do you use in Aspire for curve fixing? yes the curve was imported from Acad.

Irfan, I had the same thing on the little disks that I did recently. It also baffeled me I eventually enlarged the drawing on the screen of my dxf file and saw that it was actually the drawing itself that had those ridges on them, it is not your MM that is the problem but the actual vectors that the toolpath follows.Enlarge that same drawing a couple of times where it gives you the rough cut and see if it is that.

I noticed this sometimes when using a 12mm straight cutter and pushing it to cut 2mm per pass at a high feedrate. My whole table starts to vibrate and it seems that the router on the z-slide starts to oscillate. When I slow things down and take a 1 to 1.5mm deep cut it dissapears.

Irfan, did you notice that the rough cut is only when the X and Y motors run together to make a curve? If so, then see Rough Cut on Diagonal
