Room Divider Panel
I want to show you a panel which I made. Size of this is 190x90cm.
Different sizes and multiple panels form nice room dividers for restaurants, offices or homes...whats your opinion ? DSC00058.jpg |

Very nice, I wanted to try something similar on a handrail. Where did you get the design? Very cool.

It's spectacular. In the other thread you indicated that it took 30 hours?

What did you do about the scrap coming out of the holes? (If left as blocks, they jump up and jam the cutter......or they can be turned completely into sawdust)

Thanks,
Gerald I set up tabs one for each block, the remaining thing from the tab disappeard when I chamfered the other side. I allready imagined me sitting for a month sanding the little tab leftovers... Jim, in Exact Stop mode the cutting took 13 hours, then another 7 hours chamfering for EACH side. I left it work alone in the dark.... Last edited by Claudiu; Thu 28 January 2010 at 23:07.. |

removing the left overs manually is a PITA.
if you have space below the job - then without tabs, these pieces simply fall off Last edited by javeria; Fri 29 January 2010 at 00:08.. Reason: typo |

Claus, I believe that job can be cut very much quicker with different Mach settings, but I havn't played with settings for years and I couldn't suggest where to start.

Agree with G' - say 4 hrs of thru cuts and 2 hrs with V

I also believe that it can be done faster, but as a newbie I`m still experimenting with CV and Exact Stop. Have to do some more and find out the faster way keeping also the quality. As this is the piece I want to show to potential customers quality was most important !

CNC done by CNC
This is a small size diy cnc made from MDF.
Size is 1300 mm x 600 mm. All parts are cut from 18 mm MDF. This is how it should look loke when it`s finished. MDF CNC.jpg The Job took 1 hour to cut in two passes with a 4 mm end mill. Velocity was set to 3800 mm/min. DSC00166.JPG DSC00175.JPG Of course I did not post the cnc base which is a simple square base and not worth mentioning. I was happy that no symptoms happend during this job. You can also watch the cutting sequence with my new CV Setup. Here and here. Last edited by Claudiu; Tue 16 February 2010 at 12:36.. |

I wish I could design something like that. I did that for a customer, just the cutting.
