Those rails look a little high for the MM design. You will need to cut them to the right height before doing the 45 degree bevels.

As Heath said you will need to cut the height before doing the 45 degree, but you may also want to get the rails fitted and drilled for mounting on the main longitudinal beam. After I cut my rail to size it bowed and had to be affixed to the main longitudinal beam for grinding. You should follow the plans layout as it is a step by step process.
