considering to buy a diy kit

i found this site and need some help. they are selling a do it yourself kit to make a cnc machiene.

http://www.torchmate.com/index.html

I wont cut any thing other than pvc sheet and do routing in wood
maybe acrlic sheets once every 6 month. Mian cutting will be pvc sheets. Is this a wise option currently bewteen work and my side businees i can find the time to invest in building a cnc from strach. Plus my welder (brother) is in coldege so welding and building from strach is a no no right now.
