Just call me:

Is there more to cut & weld before painting?

Before taking the mechmate apart for the powdercoater, is there anything else that needs welded? Cable carrier mounts, dust collection attachments, etc. Dust collector = "a must have" Can have additional parts powdercoated at a later date, if they at bolt on. Black is half the cost of blue. Can we talk you out of a "MechMate.dxf" for the vinyl stickers?
Thanks,
DocTanner

All those things can be screwed/bolted/riveted on.

The cost of blue over black, and applying the logo, is a small price for building a true MechMate
(Sorry, non-negotiable)

The blue is very close to the Ford Motor Company blue. Some people call it Ford blue.

On re-reading your post, you might be asking me for .dxf of the logo? It is on your laser cut drawings.

Hi Gerald,
In the spirit of creating a true MechMate, do you suggest using the MechMate logo on the .dxf drawings? If so, what would be the "proper" dimensions? Great stuff all this!!

People used to walk into our workshop and ask where we got our machine. They don't ask that much anymore, they remember the name and then google it.

The logo on the side of the Gantry is 52mm [2"] high. The one on the Control Box and the side of the Y-Car is 35mm [1.4"] high. The logo on the dxf drawings is very exact and properly vectorised - your decal maker just needs to scale it. (I want to see guys like Doc and Fabrica cutting it about 200 to 600mm high! )

The idea is to build MechMate as a brand name of quality and repute. We can all help each other with this. Think of the day when you want to sell your machine - do you put it on e-bay as a home-built or as a branded product?

Here is the MechMate logo. About 7 1/4 X 45 inches
Time to stop playing and get that dust collector hooked up. What do you have planned for that?
Thanks,

Your "wire-less" y-motor is amazing! . (The slot in the side of the y-car is purely for wires/cables - you can hide a lot inside the car)

Dust collector? .....Mask, broom and scoop.

Will get talking on dust collectors soon - in the mean time you can look at all the experimentation here:
