Hennie,
I assume that is MDF? How will you be finishing this one?

I would add question about banding. How did you band MDF? Is it some special MDF for bending?

Heath, it would have been wrapped with foil but the client decided to leave it in mdf that way she can paint it any colour she wanted it.It will become part of a display in a decor shop. You know interior decoraters can`t make up their minds

Milosh I used normal 6 mm mdf for the back of the unit it bent easily with the curve and then doubled it up on the 100 mm above the top shelve giving me 12 mm.I used a woodglue that sets in 5 min.For the kickplate at the bottom I cut a groove into the mdf that has the same curve as the front edge.I doubled the section between the front edge and the groove wich gave me the meat to attach the kickplate on the inside with screws and glue. For the kickplate I used 12 mm mdf with no hassles to bent. I am busy setting up a website for my company where I would explain the manufacturing process in detail of projects that we are busy with (with lots of pic`s).The MM would get a lot of exposure as it is based around cnc manufacturing.

Hennie, het vanmiddag omtrent so 3.30nm by Izabellas in Blouberg verby gestap. Dit lyk baie smart, maar was dolleeg. Gaan dit OK met sy besigheid? (Miskien was hulle aspris leeg, tussen die twee groot etes).

Ok ok here it is. This one is not that big but still REAL solid wood.

DSC00941.JPG

And I used no hands.....just let it lay on the table and old BBB gently surfaced it for me.

Hennie,
I will put something up soon. We are busy putting a portfolio of stuff together for my wife to sell. She is very handy with paint and general craft stuff - so she will start earning her keep for a change.

Making curved units

I made a counter for a client recently and wasn`t it fun to do everything on the MM as the pic`s show the counter under construction with all the curves cut on the MM.I have not used the table saw once. The last pic was a cut out that I did for another company that is competition in my town.Shows you slowly I am creating a small market for the MM in my town.( will put pic`)s on monday of the bulkhead that goes above the counter.
