Some IC's needed for another project

Hi All,

I need about 100 pieces of Maxim DS1338Z-33 integrated circuits (RealTimeClocks) for another project. The local Maxim agent says minimum quantity 1000 pieces. Anybody that can help to get a smaller quantity?

Thanks

Digikey in the states has them for $1.37US for 100+ pieces. 8700 in stock. Let me know if you want me to forward some to you. They are very small, would fit nice in a padded envelope.

I could help if needed. Digi-Key have a location in Texas, so they charge me sales tax, plus 8.25%. Gerald, you are looking for this product, correct?

I am working on finding the pricing with my supplier, I will let you know soon. Think in India we can find it at a very competitive price - last time I sourced IRFP264N's here - it was half of what was listed in digikey.

Irfan,
Are you sure they are real parts? We have had problems here with fake parts here in North America for the last few years. Especially with fets and bipolars. The fake market is a large business these days. We only found out when the parts started failing for no reason. Sorry not trying to sound downbeat, just relaying some problems I have seen.

OOPS the Maxims are not available here - sorry G'

heath I agree - there are a lot of fakes - but my supplier takes care of that and has the right contacts to get the right material.

Me and my friend Paul assemble kits for the UHU servo controller and I have been sourcing parts from my current supplier and all seem to work well till now.

The best price that I could find for 100 pieces was at Newark Electronics. Getting them to South Africa would still be a major problem.

Thanks for all the help everyone. The builder of the system has a regular channel for Digikey, and he will explore that route.
