Mamba logo ideas

Hey MM fans.
Gerald suggested I put some logo ideas up for comment.
Leko and Sean did a few doodles this week.
Let us know what you think.

Wow!!!! Outstanding work. I vote for the snake wrapped around the motor.

Sean, I love the snake!

Have a bit of a problem with the aspect ratio making it taller rather than wider. Bear in mind where the logos are fixed - vertical space is limited: (Except for the control box - where a tall one will work well)

Sean,
Great work on the logo. If I had a choice it would be the snake around the spindle. Very Cool.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will work on some variations based on feedback and Gerald's needs. It is Gerald's machine after all! Leko and I will work up some form factors that work on the 3 prominent placements on the machine.

Sean,

Maybe you could move the word "Mamba" to a position above the last e in Mechmate and shrink the graphic a little. That might make it fit better on the gantry.

I'm really impressed with your work.

Some other doodles

Here are some other ideas that I came up with. Don't get too caught up in the layout, we can always work that out. We should try and figure out what sort of "feel" we're looking for...mean...classy...techno...whatever, and go from there.

Also remember, you don't necessarily want to put the Mambo logo everywhere that you put the MechMate logo. Likewise, you don't really want the MechMate logo everywhere it will fit.

Any thoughts on these?

I am figuring that in the name of *KISS* that one color vinyl would work best...or I suppose if you could find someone with a CNC router you could cut out a stencil.

My favorite is still the one with the snake wrapped around the router.

Wow, some more great logos! I think I am still with Dough though I like the snake around the router or spindle. Looks more friendly? Looks like we will have many to choose from. Some great artistic talent on the fourms here.

Gerald,
Which one do you like?

The simplest snake is the best one. The word "Mamba" should not be in the logo.

Gerald,
Which one is the simplest one? Do you mean the one with the router or the fouth one done in Lekos ideas?

I've been sick with the flu for the past week. The only time I could get my eyes and nose to stop running long enough to get anything done, I was too hopped up on medicine to use real tools. So I have been studying Mechanisms & Mechanical Devices Sourcebook by Neil Sclacter & Nick Chironis and sketching when that made my head hurt.

Though I think Gerald should be the one that decides what the final design will look like, my two cents: I like the look of the snake head that is wrapped around the spindle. Change the fourth Mamba snake with that one or also include the spindle.

Guys, I don't want to be forced into a decision to pick one artwork over another. My only requirement will be for the word MechMate to be totally dominant. The addition of a graphic is fine, and that could be a very personal choice.

I want visitors to your shop to look at your machines and go home to google one word only.

Adding a graphic is great - it shows pride. The graphics shown in this thread are all great. When I say "simpler the better", I think in terms of customer walking in and saying "I have this little graphic of a snake, can you add it to my wood sign please?". Which cutter will fit in all the corners - bigger cutters will cut faster.
