The secret of 'closed-loop' steppers or servos is to syncronize all of the motors so that when one motor slows down, all motors slow down proportionally. I think that that is what Mariss and Art are trying to accomplish with the G100 and Mach3 - when it if finally finished.

Without all the Bull$hit. Can a Mechmate be set up with servos? Yes or no?

There are plenty of online resources regarding the stepper vs servo debate.

JR,

what schema do you need? If you talk about a schema for driver electronics then we don't have that. Most people here uses Gecko drivers with a BoB PMDX-122. Thus turned out to be a very reliable solution.

JR,

You can download the Gecko manuals from www.geckodrive.com (G203v is probably the stepper driver that you would want to look at and the G320 would probably be the servo driver of interest).

You can download the PMDX-122 manual from www.pmdx.com.

There is a lot of information here on the forum about various Gecko and PMDX products, but it will take some time and effort to search it all out. If you have specific questions, just post them and those of us who have worked with Geckos and PMDX will try to help you out.
