No more thinking
Gerald I have followed your advise and a great job came out.
I was afraid at the beginning, but now looking back...piece of cake. I wrote down the result in my threat. I don`t know how you want to handle this, but you can move it or copy it or cut it...here`s the result. Thanks Gerald again for helping out. |

How much weld current (Amps) did you use, and how far apart were your final welds?

Gerald,
I worked with an old triodine (I don`t know if this term is known). It`s a three phase dc welder from 1965. Amperage 150 Ah. 4.5mm sticks I started with 3 welds each 40 mm long followed by a large gap of about 70 cm. I wanted a smooth bending so I started with the first three welds on a distance of about 1.7 meters, from the end of the beam just passing a little bit over half. After cooling another weld 2 cm apart from the first. Then cooling... It looked like this. -- =welding .....=space --...................--.....................-- cooling -- --................-- --.................-- -- cooling -- -- --.............-- -- --..............-- -- -- cooling -- -- -- --..........-- -- -- --...........-- -- -- -- cooling aso -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- end of procedure until it got a complete line wiyh 40mm welds and 20-30mm spaces. I will take some pics and post them later. Good night Claus Last edited by Claudiu; Thu 19 November 2009 at 15:25.. |
