I might go for the Steamboat...looks like FOOD.
When we lived in Holland we were introduced to Satay...not enough meat for us red meat lovers.
Definetly not Bah Kut Teh.... I am NOT SICK and don't eat soup.

Kobus, as a fellow meat lover, I can recommend Bah Kut Teh, provided it is served in Klang and your host is Ken. Nice stuff.

There is a restaurant in Benoni called Lemon Grass, they serve Malay food, including satay, great stuff!

[QUOTE=Kobus_Joubert;50753. . .
I was very worried that I would also have sporadic movement on my MM when I go the spindle route.
I connected the unit on Saturday and the machine has been running non stop without any problems. I did not add filters, special wiring and earthing to my setup.[/QUOTE]

if i may ask, what wire did you use for your VFD to spindle?

i guess while i'm asking - would you describe how your quick mount plate works

cheers,
robin

Hi Robin,

When I started my MechMate I thought this thing is pulling MAJOR Amp's so I bought a 100m roll of 2.5mm 4 core CABTYRE
4core.jpg

I used this to my steppers and also to run my router back then.
All I did with the Spindle is to use 3 of the 4 cores from VFD to Spindle.
No earthing NOTHING.

The quick release bracket was in the plans I think. All it is is a small plate with 2 indexing pins and a 8mm threaded hole.
This plate then fit onto your Z-Plate...the 2 pins locate into holes on Z-Plate and one 8mm bolt goes from the back of the Z-plate (rectangular tube) into the mounting plate. All you have to do is to undo the 8mm bolt and the spindle pops free.

See my build log http://www.mechmate.com/forums/showt...&postcount=162

This form of leaf motif has been in design for thousands of years. I am reading a book that goes into detail about the different styles and changes this plant leaf has gone through over the years.

Cool stuff really. If history were taught this way more people would be interested for sure !!!

You should get her to come with you. There is lots for her to do during the day while you are at the User Group meeting.
