Thanks for the advice Mike and Pete, I wasn't sure if the negatives of two dc power supplies could be connected.

Hi, when we say that ALL grounds are to be connected, does that include my 24VDC din rail power supply I'm using to power the e-stop circuit. Thanks

Hi Im thinking of buying a spindle and inverter, my first choice was a water cooled spindle like most people seem to use, but I have seen a 3kw air cooled spindle and inverter for only £230.00 it...

Hi its time to order the contactor ,ill be running a 2.2kw spindle but i am a little confused about the right contactor amperage, do i follow AC1 or AC3 specs i think it should be AC3 Thanks

Thanks for the reply john. i personally think low voltage is the way to go as most new machines use low voltage on the E-stops. are you using a standard contactor or a safety relay?

new start

So now i finally have the time to seriously start my build, i though it was time to try the motors and drivers and all seems well. Going to start the steel work this weekend will post some pics soon...
