That's interesting. I have never broken a bit. I've driven a couple of bits into the material and once watched a 1/2" end mill collide with a metal clamp (that was fun :rolleyes:).

For the Record,

Rough pass - .250 End Mill, 2 flute, 220 ipm, No problem.

Finish pass - .125 Ball Nose, 3 flute, 290 ipm, lost a step on the Z.

Glad it was MDF.

The issue was me again. I had set my "look ahead" to 5 lines when I was cutting allot of profiles. Don't ask why, I now know there are better way for what I was trying to do.

I'm finally getting my cut quality on hard woods down. Allot less sanding and minimal machine marks.
