I've done some tweaking today trying to resolve some problems.

My step time is now 5000
step space is now 5000
dir hold is 1200
dir setup is 1200

Better, I think.

step time 2500 step space 2500 direction hold...

step time 2500
step space 2500
direction hold 20000
direction setup 20000

On the pmdx,
jp1 is set for +5v
jp2 is set for "always"
jp3 is set for "not estop/fault"
jp4 is set for "normal"
