Pete,Yes I am pleased but there is a huge learning curve waiting.I need to sort out a couple of things still.( dead stops,some more motor tuning,get the z-axis square to the project it is cutting )...

my first test leg
So I had time to complete my stand alone lathe.After many wasted material this is what I came up with.I must say this is one huge challenge.
It also takes ages to turn so now it is time to figure...

laser cutting or plasma ?

Only with a Mechmate
I did these for a client recently Wine wall with 240 / 12 mm dia holes took 4 hours with a 6 mm cutter at 5 mm/sec feed rate.
