The far right of object is the roughing area, the left of center is the finish pass area.
Are you sure the part isn't flexing up...

If you OEM switches are wired and working then you will be able to test this. (that's the programed 1000 and 1001 codes to resolve...

IF water flowing is your only real failure concern, then I would just focus on the simple solution so your machine won't start cutting unless water is flowing.
That could be a simple as a flow alert...
