Yep that's the idea except I am going to turn a piece and place a piece of 1/4 drill rod in the hole and stick it into a corresponding hole on the fixture. Think of flower stem sticking into a vase....

I know that someone has done this... but I cannot find it....

I want to automatically find the center of a hole. What I envision is a touch probe (already have z-plate zero working) that is a cup...
