If those pics are copyright then you shouldn't be posting traced copies here. The copyright owner can go after the owner of the MechMate website for hosting downloadable copies of their work.

Russel, your gas-spring appears to have the fat side at the bottom. That causes the drop of internal oil to lie at the bottom and not get to the rubber seal at all.

Suggest you try and wipe that marking off with thinners before spraypainting. We very often find that those types of markings...

Russell, the classic solution to the inrush current of a transformer involves a resistor and a relay.

A resistor is put in one of the input legs of the transformer and that reduces the current....
