First read / sticky ?
 

Hi guys,

I happened to find this write-up on the internet http://lcamtuf.coredump.cx/gcnc/ , and although it spins off into the direction of casting custom gears in the end, I thought it could be a good read for newbies nevertheless.

It explains clearly some of the more common questions about the start with a cnc hobby; it talks about cutting tools, cnc machines in general, spindles, drawing, tolerances etc..

Although I am still a newbie myself and do not own a cnc I thought it might be a good start before reading the stickies above that are specific for the Mechmate ? You can be the judge of that.
