Did a bit of playing tonight...
Attachment 5825 This is the start of a new sign for outside the factory. Attachment 5826 Something I've wanted to make ever since seeing it somewhere on the web. Attachment 5827 ditto Attachment 5828 Seeing as though the other guys are doing such wonderful 3D work, decided I have to start somewhere. |
Cool Alan. I've wanted to make that same shelf unit too. Looks great!!
|
That is 3D work without direct-drive motors - not bad :)
Nice stuff! |
Nothing wrong with our direct motors. Well done Alan
|
Very nice. I can't wait for mine.

Nice work Alan, thanks for sharing. :)

Alan,
How do you paint the MDF. I have tried several ways but always end up with the cut edges dull. Do you prepare the wood before you paint? |
Marius,
I have had pretty good success using an automotive grade hi-fill primer on the MDF edges. It ends up sealing the edges and finishing as well as the front surface. It's not a cheap option, but works for us when that quality is a priority. Hi fill primer is also available in your "run of the mill" rattle can in the hardware store as well. |
Our local auto body shops know that as "spray filler"
|
Marius try high body white primer from Chemspec.First give the mdf a good sand and then put some 2 coats which should do the trick
|
Thanks Hennie, the Gauteng branch is around the corner from me.
