How to run a Gcode X amount of times
Hi I'm running Gcodes on a small machine using my control box that is the only thing I have finish, and I trying to cut letters (Fonts) from a 1/4" plywood but I need to make the cuts continue progressively instead of having to run then stop and run again deeper down I have broken 4 bits like this.
I'm converting the DXF using (FlashCut) and I would like to know if there is a feature in Mach3 to run Gcode or repeat X amount of times in one single run. For example run X amount of times is 1/4" deep, run in 4 continuous passes of 1/16" increments Thanks in Advance |
You could use the multipass wizard.

Why not just edit the G-code file? copy & paste, & edit the nex Z.

My thought exactly, Ken.

I use the LAZY CAM engine available as an option with MACH and it has a multipass feature too. The nice part it is it will open a Gcode.tap file and reverse engineer the file, you edit, then play again almost immediately.
Best 75 bucks I spent that year. Note - I KNOW for sure that Vectric Cut 2D does this as well and far easier/better. And it's only 150.00 Sean |
I'd stay far away from LazyCAM and get a real, finished, and supported CAM program. At the low end of the price range, either Cut2D or CamBam.

...there is a reason it's called LAZY!
Personally, love Cut2D and Cut3D for cost and usability. Use them both often. |
