Feed back needed on contactor wiring.

We would like to get some feedback on how we have the disconnect and contactor wired.
Thanks!

That doesn't look right. What diagrams are you using?

What you are trying to connect, should be like this:

vaughnluna Sat 06 December 2008 16:00

Gerald,

This is the first post I have made. I'm Tadeo, the brother of Justin of "Brothers Build Mechmate".

I Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll make the wiring changes to match your diagram. I'm new to wiring, so I used L3 and T3 instead of 13 and 14. Also, I left off the jumper that feeds power to L1 in order to simplify things for my own understanding.

Thanks again,

Tadeo

Welcome Tadeo!

Slow progress, hope to finish by the end of the month. Controller all put together need some warm days to paint table and x rails.

Kobus_Joubert Wed 07 January 2009 22:00

lunaj76 Wed 07 January 2009 22:04

My brother, Tadeo is a field engineer and has been in the Congo for a month. He should be back this week and hopefully we can get this beast going before my third baby gets here.

sailfl Sun 01 February 2009 14:29

Justin,

It doesn't look like there is much left to do. Table looks good.

Control box mounted on wall with fresh paint. X rails painted and logos on.

Gerald D Sun 08 February 2009 03:21

I can smell that fresh paint from here! :)

Did you leave an air gap between the control box and the wall so that cooling air can convect up the back surface as well?

I hope that is enough room for a draft?

Gerald D Sun 08 February 2009 19:50

I am sure that will be okay - these boxes don't get as hot as I first thought. (My boxes are mounted on 40x40 [1.5x1.5"] vertical "studs")

lunaj76 Sun 08 February 2009 22:21

Now for the wiring!

Loosely assembled and ready for the electrics.

sailfl Mon 09 February 2009 03:18

Justin,

Looks great and it looks like you have a great helper and future MM builder.

Now, slap on some motors and wire that baby up.

lunaj76 Fri 27 February 2009 19:31

Jogs in Y direction, just have to wire up the rest of it. Not much time these days with 2 little one's and another due any day.

Gerald D Fri 27 February 2009 21:07

Ah, Justin has motorised movement - well done!

jeffh Fri 27 February 2009 22:12

Congratulations Justin!

You and Tadeo were, and continue to be inspirations, to me on these machines.

That is one sharp looking MechMate you've got there.

Again, congratulations on the motor movement. Your sleepless nights are just beginning (Although with a new baby on the way, you'd better get used to that!)

Good Luck and thanks for the updates!

Happy Days over here!

Kobus_Joubert Thu 05 March 2009 22:07

Well done Justin now for some DUST to give that nice clean garage some character.

Gerald D Thu 05 March 2009 23:20

Justin, can I have an ice cream too? :)

Well done!

sailfl Fri 06 March 2009 00:36

Justin,

Gerald awarded the Serial # too soon. You didn't paint your controller box.

Congratulations on number 24 from #12.

Cute helpers you got there. It won't be long before they will be running the machine and Dad will have trouble getting to use it.

Gerald, the builds are starting to pile up.

domino11 Fri 06 March 2009 07:18

Justin,
Congratulations on your Serial Number! :)

Nils,
I am sure the box will get painted!:rolleyes:

jhiggins7 Fri 06 March 2009 07:54

Justin,

Congratulations on Serial #24. A fine looking MechMate...AND family too.

The updated Builder's Log is here.

Your first post was mid-last year, but you already had the table built. For the record, when did you actually start your build? I'd like to add this information to the spreadsheet. Also, if you would like to add anything to the Comments, please let me know.

Regards,
John

Thanks Guys for the kind words.

I want to make sure everyone knows that I could not have done this project without the help of everyone here and most important my brother Tadeo and one other investor. We started ordering parts in August of 2007.

The control box was a find on the side of the road and is a Rittall (stainless steel). I have some tables that are also stainless so I might not paint the control box.

Now the real work of dialing it in and learning software!
