Y Car Welded - France

Hy every one, i live in France near Metz (Moselle) and i am planing to begin the build of a machmate. I have red a lot of posts during the last 4 months and found a mine of helpfull pictures, and of course lots of quality explanations and unstructions.

This machmate is ment to be used in my place for various projects. One among them is to help me cut wooden solar cookers i used to do by hand , for educational purposes.

I also wanted to thank a lot Gerald .

Although i can weld , I can't say i have any skills in electronics or eaven elecricity and i am unfortunately not really able to understand a lot more than the basic principles about it .

Maybe that will make things easyer for me , as i'll only have to stick to the original plans and choice for components :) .

I will make my mechmmate thanks to the help of my friends , hopfully with some help of Jazial nearby , and whith some support of the mechmate community .

Thanks Fawzi.

Fawzi

Welcome and good luck with your build.

Can you share some pictures of your solar cooker? Thanks

fawzikach Wed 17 February 2010 10:11

I will sailfl , i often work with childrens in schools . I'll take pictures of their work to show you. This year the end of the solar building projects will be in mai (when time is less cloudy). i'll probably post pictures of mine which is big enouth, next month. now it's too cloudy and snowy to get it of the garrage .
thanks for your comment :)

Here are some french prices for the lazer cut parts:
I have received 5 prices from medium to big compagnies...
and the price is quite diffrent form one compagny to another:

2 proposed prices between 900 € and 750€ :/
2 prices between 600€ and 550€
my best price is 425 € for the moment.

To these prices you must add the 20% tax fees .

Jezial told me he got his laser parts for around 300 euros more or less .
I hope i will get such a resonable price by asking his comagny,
or by asking some commercial reduction to the cheapest i found.

Welcome Fawzi!

Bonjour Fawzi !

Merci Robert for the advice ;) I've read Gerald's post a few days ago so i know should watch my questions carefully before posting them .

The Laser cut parts are ordered now, still 2 weeks before delivery. The final price was 410 euros HT (483euros TTC).I don't really know if I could have had a better price, but eventually, I will get those parts in time for the building.

domino11 Thu 18 March 2010 11:25

i hope i'll get enouth time next monday to make it .

MetalHead Thu 18 March 2010 12:25

Parts look great.

So what time of day and what latitude does it take to make an oval at 51 degrees give a shadow that is a perfect circle?

Hmmmmm

jehayes Thu 18 March 2010 12:38

Wow! Mike, what an eye you have! :D

fawzikach Thu 18 March 2010 14:24

I think I know the answer :)

jehayes Thu 18 March 2010 14:37

Fawzi: You should! It's your shop!

MetalHead Thu 18 March 2010 15:04

I thought that shadow was cool !!! :D

Gerald D Thu 18 March 2010 23:26

Has anyone noticed that the small oval hole in the ends of the gantry, on the inclined surface, appear to be perfectly circular when viewed directly from above? :)
(even allowing for the thickness of the inclined plate - the idea is that the prox. will pass vertically through)

I think mine are ovaled. I will have to check again. they can be easily opened up for the proxies to pass through.
