PMDX-122 power supply

2 Attachment(s)
I am enclosing a photo of the power supply i will be using to power my PMDX-122 board.
what i am thinking is using the same power supply to power my Gecko cooling fans.
feeding the power to a connecting strip then supplying the PMDS and fans from there
is this a wise move? or should i have i have a independent supply to each.

I have also been checking other power supplies i have a home. What i have notice that the power supplies that have a resistor at the end, [as shown in the photo] if these outputs say 12volts then it reads 12v on my meter.
the others without the resistor can read anything from 14v to 16 volts.
thanks paul;

Paul,
That is most likely not a resistor but a noise suppression device like a choke (inductor). The output voltage will depend on whether the supply is regulated or not, depends on the internal construction of the supply.

As long as the supply can support the current required, running the fans off the same supply should be no problem. Just make sure that the voltage doesnt drop too low when you have everything loaded. You don't want your pmdx to cut out from low voltage. :)
