Source for Complete V-Roller bearing sets (with eccentrics) @ $good-price$

Hi All, it looks like we can source the 12 rollers and eccentric bushings as a complete set for only $185.52, excluding shipping, from Superior Bearing in Ohio. (Design since changed for optional 14 rollers and 6 eccentric bushings)

Send them a mail direct and tell them that it is for their MechMate kit.

I have ordered from France the complete set. I have received it 5 days after. Great vendor. Thank you Gerald.

Thread bumped for Leandro in Brazil.

Superior have supplied around 30 sets of these bearings for MechMate builders, and everyone seems very happy with Rick's service.

For the record, a complete set of roller parts for a MechMate will be:
12 (or 14) off Guide Wheels GW3 wheels
4 (or 6) off Eccentric Bushings B3X (replaces part M1 20 210 T)
zero (nil) off Plain bushes B3 (we do not need any plain bushes)

I am checking to see whether the pricing may have been revised.

In the next release of the drawings, there will be provision for fitting 6 rollers to the z-slide's spider. This will allow the z-slide to be pulled 60mm [2.4"] higher up before it falls right out of the rollers. In fact, it will fall out of the lowest pair of rollers but will still be held in position by another pair of rollers placed 60mm higher. This mod was made for people who want to load very tall workpieces, and who have long/deep cutters to draw out of the workpiece. If you do plan to do such deep work, you will want to purchase:
14 off Guide Wheels GW3 wheels (instead of the standard 12 off)
6 off Eccentric Bushings B3X (replaces part M1 20 210 T) (instead of the standard 4 off)

Merry Christmas everyone!

was curious if anyone knows what the current pricing for the package was, or if they were still doing it. anybody ordered lately? i sent out an email to them but wanted to check here as well.

and gerald maybe i'm missing something but its late, but this line doesnt make sense:

zero (nil) off Plain bushes B3 (we do not need any plain bushes)

i assume they arent part of it but i'm not sure why you would include them in that list if they arent needed.

Gerald D Tue 16 September 2008 23:08

Some people got the wrong idea that they need Plain bushes for the wheels that do not use Eccentric bushes.

baseball43v3r Wed 17 September 2008 11:03

just an fyi, i got a reply from rick and the prices are still the same as before for anyone that was wondering!

I am happy with the services from Superior Bearing, Rick is truly honest man just like all the MechMate forum members

one question, pardon me if i'm being ignorant for not looking for answer in already available documents...

why do we need the eccentric bushings? so that the grantry doesnt jump out of track? why cant we use skate bearing?

sailfl Mon 22 December 2008 19:49

Nikonauts

You use the eccentrics so you can make adjustments to insure the Z is perpendicular to the table so that the router/spindle will cut correctly.

Gerald D Mon 22 December 2008 21:56

The eccentric bushes go inside the bearings of the z-slide. They allow you to adjust the position of the bearing from left to right.

smreish Mon 15 June 2009 16:24

Yep, Got my order delivered about 2 weeks ago and finished the new z slide last night.

Regnar Tue 12 January 2010 13:46

Just to let you guys know that the bearings and eccentric bushings went up a little.

GW3X = $15.95ea @ 14pcs = $223.30
B3X = $3.81ea @ 6pcs = $22.86
Total = $246.16

Would appreciate if someone could please help. I also tried getting in contact with Rick. Emailed him twice and no reply yet.

iclazion Fri 15 January 2010 12:05

Does this V-rail ball bearing fit the spesifications of what we would need? http://cgi.ebay.com/3-16-V-Groove-Sl...item19b2271e57

Gerald D Fri 15 January 2010 12:39

The one that we use is about double that size and 8 times heavier

Regnar Fri 15 January 2010 14:07

iclazion, I just got off the phone with him a few hours ago. It sounded like he was swamped with a few projects when I called. He said they have the Mechmate Kits on hand and that they would ship out fast. I am just waiting for the email saying how much shipping is.

iclazion Fri 15 January 2010 14:23

That is really good news Regnar. Would be appreciated if I could get a shipping cost to South Africa. At long last my motors, drivers, breakout board and voltage regulators are on their way.

iclazion Sun 07 March 2010 09:32

Is there someone on this forum willing to sell a complete set. I don’t want to wait up on a miracle before they respond to my email. I would like 14 “Guide Wheels” – GW3; 6 “Eccentric Bushings” – B3X. Also please give me a quote on the v-rails. Shipping will be to South Africa. Thank you. I Would appreciate it if there is someone willing to help.

I think we can add 2 Centric bushings? for the two fixed bearings top and bottom left or right.

http://www.qbcbearings.com/BuyRFQ/RF..._BA1_photo.jpg

they are B3 in the S.Bearings

14 - GW3-- bearing
6 -- B3X--- bushing
2 -- B3---- bushing

Ross,
If you centralize one side or the top/bottom of the spider assembly, you will decrease your ability to get a true 0,0,0 by half. If your layout and machining of the grooves is perfect, then half might work for you...

I found that i needed full travel on the eccentrics to get the proper z 0,0 relationship to the y-axis.

hennie Fri 29 April 2011 22:34

Is Rick still supplying bearings for Mech Mates? I need to upgrade my home made wheels.
