Axial dust shoe
Today I posted this at cnczone, I guessed it can help someone here too so here is a repost:
Shoe assembled, unlike other shoes, this one is axial, dust is vacuumed around the cutting tool. The radial allen bolt is used to fix the shoe to the Metabo http://peu.net/mods/router128.JPG bottom side, you can see neodymium magnets to attach the bristle curtain http://peu.net/mods/router129.JPG the hole was milled from the outside, then I dremelled it to provide a better path for the dust. http://peu.net/mods/router130.JPG The top part is threaded to the shoe body, there is really no need for this, but I figured this when the shoe was almost finished :) http://peu.net/mods/router131.JPG Views of the side attachment, I have a lot of 10mm sheets, so I did this part in 4 layers http://peu.net/mods/router132.JPG Hotmelted from the inside http://peu.net/mods/router133.JPG http://peu.net/mods/router134.JPG http://peu.net/mods/router135.JPG The threaded side, there is no real need for the holes, the piece I used of aluminum I used had these holes and I had to live with that. http://peu.net/mods/router136.JPG The shoe attached to the Metabo with and without the vacuum http://peu.net/mods/router137.JPG http://peu.net/mods/router138.JPG Side view with and without the bristle curtain http://peu.net/mods/router139.JPG http://peu.net/mods/router140.JPG Bored coupling in the lathe so the vacuum fits tightly http://peu.net/mods/router127.JPG Tried it with the same sheet of acrylic and not a single shaving escaped, now I can work cleanly :) Source: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=791273 |

Weird... Pics are hosted at my hosting server here in Argentina, anyway, here are the same pictures hosted at dropbox:

another option would be using the coral cache for reading the forum:
http://www.mechmate.com.nyud.net/for...ead.php?t=2856 (notice the added nyud.net suffix) Or if you use the opera browser enable the turbo mode, which "proxifies" the navigation thru their servers. |
Nice work Pablo! I can see the pics as well. :)
