Dust Boot on Independent Motor

I believe I have read somewhere that someone used an independent motor to position their dust boot relative to the job at hand. I am curious if any forum members have done this and if they would post pictures so I can see how it can be implemented on a mechmate.

It would be very easy to make a manual positioning dust shoe, why would you like to automate it?
