Yannick,

I see you've been around about 5 years. Congratulations on your decision to build a MechMate and on your progress so far.

Regarding the skate. Do I see bolt ends at the far left and far right of the photo? When I used a similarly designed skate, the bolts that rode the top of the rail "wore" to the point that my depth of cut was affected. Thus the grinding wheel became more aggressive on subsequent passes. After noticing this, I found that I had to keep adjusting the bolts as they wore.

To remedy this, later designs of the skate placed bearings where you have bolts so the bearings could ride the top of the rail. The bearings don't wear as you make your passes resulting in better control of the depth of cut.

john,
you are right. the bolts affect the top of the rail but as I finished the rails.

I did not notice or forget that the skateboard was planned for 115mm and not for the 125mm discs.

If you post a little bit of problem, I help search on here for a solution. "Lots of really talented people, have posted good information. It is just hard to find."

the wiring is almost complete.

YANLM
Wed 07 March 2018, 10:45
wiring complete
estop and push button too
but I am completely blocked by the spindle which does not start with mach3. Anybody would have a vfd Fuling ?

Thu 08 March 2018, 08:11
hello Davey, i have seen this video before. It's not the same model but the parameters seems to be the same when i compare with the user manual of my model (downloaded because the user manual delivered with the vfd is in chinese).

In manual mode it work very well.

Fri 09 March 2018, 07:22
Did you switched parameters from inverter menu to change command source?
P0.01 from 0 to 1 keyboard to terminal control
P 0.03 from 0 to 1 to control ferquency instead keyboard 0-10v source
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/828872/Fuling-Inverter-Dzb200-Series.html?page=21#manual pages 20-21

YANLM
Fri 09 March 2018, 08:14
hello Ivo
Yes i have changed the command source.
i see variation on the vfd screen, when i jog 0-10v with the breakout board software. i found 24v between S1 and DCM and variation when i measure between VI and ACM .
I found 24 V between S1 and DCM when i activate the relay but i also found 24v when the relay is not select !!
and ACM and DCM are connected to 0V on my bob (all 0V on Bob are connected).

ifffff
Fri 09 March 2018, 13:04
hmmm i havent atm time to deepening to vfd manual, but it sounds like faulty unit. Especially when its screen is showing output, but it really dont have any.

I am using too chinese vfd/spindle combo, but guess why i have on the shelf spare ones :)

IamDave
Fri 09 March 2018, 17:42
I do not have a clue. But I am going to order the spindle/vfd in the video. maybe he has good settings. 2.2kw with vfd . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sf2zLQu5CU

ifffff
Sat 10 March 2018, 00:19
I suggest to buy instead of 2.2kw 3kw unit. Price is almost same, but you get better spindle with more low rpm torque and bigger bearings.
I am using those https://www.ebay.de/itm/EU-3KW-ER20-Water-Cooled-Spindle-Motor-24000rpm-VFD-Inverter-220V-100mm-Clamp-/253468515537
According to this http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=253468515537&t=1497763655000&tid=310&category=36802&seller=rattmmotor&excSoj=1&excTrk=1&lsite=3&ittenable=false&domain=ebay.de&descgauge=1&cspheader=1&oneClk=1&secureDesc=0 are those inverters original huanyang.

YANLM

Does Mach 3 run on your laptop without problems?

YANLM
Tue 13 March 2018, 10:07
yes for the moment i don't have any problems with mach3 on the laptop. (break out board with usb and driver for mach3).

IamDave
Sat 17 March 2018, 05:57
I like the way you used the square tube on the gantry, for the wires.

YANLM
Mon 19 March 2018, 08:53
hello, Yes I have drilled twice for all the cabling. i can put a photo if you want

somebody have a vacuum table?

IamDave
Tue 20 March 2018, 16:19
Yannick. How long is the z slide rack on yours? I cut mine 11.8 inches on an 18 inch tooled plate. I only drilled 2 holes to hold it on. I get confused on the drawings as to the length options.

Dennis, slap some logo's on your MechMate and earn a serial number. Undoubtedly your's will be the first MechMate in Reunion.

I'm also loving the exotic wood

Ok guys, does that look like a logo on this MechMate? I think it does. Nice!!

jhiggins7
Fri 03 August 2018, 05:21
That's what I thought when I saw it yesterday. I suggest you award him a Serial Number.

What would it cost to send him a set of the vinyl MechMate logo's from the US? I suppose shipping and customs costs would be prohibitive.

YANLM
Fri 03 August 2018, 05:27
vinyl from USA ;).
i think i can make it with a good scissors. i don't have time for that for now, but it is in my task list

jhiggins7
Fri 03 August 2018, 05:33
Just a thought Yannick. We watch your progress with interest. Good luck.

YANLM

Yannick,

Congratulations on earning Serial Number #129. Here's the Updated Builder's Log (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SDSq8C8mQKJzp0oTrXtHcTYXp_QmFlYev9zRc1X2nZE/edit?usp=sharing)with your entry added. Please review your entry and let me know any changes you wish to make. Also, please let me know the "cutting" dimensions of your table so that I can add them to the Builder's Log.
