Thanks to this great forum we successfully completed our MechMate and were able to make a first test cut yesterday:

Some details to the design which is pretty much standard except maybe the relatively large cutting area and the bolted design as a consequence, because we wanted to make it transportable in case we need to change location.

Here are some of the main parameters:

Cutting area: 3100x2070x30 mm
Stepper motors: Oriental motor PK296AE-SG7.2
Breakout board: PMDX-126 Rev. C
Motherboard for Gecko drive: PMDX-134
Stepper drive: G203V Digital Step Drive
Isolated Speed Control: PMDX-107 P
Spindle: 2.2kW 220V air cooled Chinese spindle with VFD

Many thanks, Herb! We have lot of pictures but I still have to figure out a simple way of posting them. Someone could perhaps help and point me to a forum post or quickly describe.

Congrats, Nice job! How long did it take you to complete it? What software are you using? You need to get a video posted of your mm running with the MechMate logo somewhere in it to get that serial number. Again Congrats!

Thanks, Tom. We still need to organize the logo but I'll definitely post a picture with it. To answer your questins we are using Mach3 to control the MM. It took us around 10 months of elapsed time to finish the build, but it includes also quite some waiting for components.
