I know that someone has done this... but I cannot find it....

I want to automatically find the center of a hole. What I envision is a touch probe (already have z-plate zero working) that is a cup with a pin to index into a given hole. Put a rod/pin in the tool head (known diameter), jog over and down into the cup. Move the tool head (x and y) and find the center....

A link to someone else is better than redoing all the work of keying it in.

PS.... I just found one on Mach3 Forum... Thanks for looking and considering the issue

While it doesn't say exactly what I'm trying to do, it is the same concept. The third post down contains the code..

Yep that's the idea except I am going to turn a piece and place a piece of 1/4 drill rod in the hole and stick it into a corresponding hole on the fixture. Think of flower stem sticking into a vase.
