OT …Trailer plans ?

Totally out of context, but… still steel fab ! :D

Anyone knows a reliable source for safe & quality trailer plans?
I’ll need some soon, as I plan to move out all my shop equipment & machinery ( Machmate too !!) to my new shop location by mid-end summer !

What ??? Rent ??? When we can spend thousands of dollars and countless hours fabricating and purchasing single use tools for hundreds of dollars ????

You could also check around and find out how Uhaul gets rid of their trucks. Often there's some major repair involved, but you can get them cheap.

I've built many trailers, each one to suit the needs of the moment, and they all worked as they should have. I probably won't build another one. By the time you add up all the costs for all the parts and the costs to get the parts to where your going to build the trailer, that has to include the fuel when you go to the parts store to get that one piece you need now to continue, paint, sandpaper, tape, nuts bolts, nuts, wire, connectors, ect, plus the time to build it, I can go to Google and find someone near me that builds that trailer for not much more. If you could save big $$$$$, then I say build it yourself, otherwise if you do some research, just buy it.

If you do decide to build it anyway, do yourself a favor, keep detailed records of the cost and see how much more it would have cost to just buy the same trailer.

Utility trailers are not that expensive. Often you can find good deals on used ones...

The only reason I mentioned rent is, its cheap just for moving. Since your from Canada, I did not know what was the best options.

Building a 16' tandom axle trailer is not that hard. You can buy the 3000lb axles or the 7000lb axles and that works good. If you are hauling a heavy load you might want to get brakes.

As far as uhaul. Again I am not sure about Canada, but they are pretty good here in usa, but I personally perfer Ryder for the trucks.
