Hi Normand
I have also been looking for a strong joining methods and as a result started working on a CNC router friendly joining method and came up with a small plastic type clip-on type connector/ fitting. This allow you to easy connect cut components. None of the current KD fittings really work in a 2D profile cut method.
If you are interested, I can send you a link.

Hi Alan
I see you are just around the corner from me :)
The standard type T joint fitting in 6 and 9 mm are about R5.50 each (SA Rand). Corner extensions are about R2 each.

Thanks Normand - interesting
Always nice to see solutions around board material
One would need straight edge/joining faces for this to work well - only corner joints
Expensive - 90$ for a chair

One of the friends on the form posted a picture about miter joint with cnc a month or so ago, I cannot find the post but that post came in time and I am grateful for it. I had to make a "waterfall" table from Cedar slab imported from Lebanon and there was no way I could miter the slab with my little makita saw.
No success with image upload, please have a look at facebook.com/wowcarving in the album named Waterfall edge table
