This is one solution for the rails which I found :

My question is: how much is the most allowed distance between the axes of the rollers and the axes of the module 1 pinion, as I donīt want to modify anything on the gantry.

Excuse my drawing.

You can find any tech description here for the rails http://www.lineare.ro/Catalogues/Housing%20units%20&%20shaft%20supports%20for%20linear%20systems.pdf on page 33.

For the diameter of the rollers I will decide after I get the max dimensions between the axes.

What do you think?
Have a nice weekend.

What is the cost of those compared to the system we use?

how much is the most allowed distance between the axes of the rollers and the axes of the module 1 pinion,

80mm.

Also realise that, when the router is cutting with a heavy load, there is a big sideways (horizontal) force between the roller and the rail. What you have sketched will not be okay to carry such a horizontal force

Hennie ,

I do not know the cost yet, I wanted to know if it`s ok from the technical aspect first.

The sideway forces: That`s an interesting aspect, but of course my drawing does not show real groove and depth in the bearing.
The real position can be seen in the link I pointed in the thread before.

Thx
Claudiu

If you guys say it`s worth a try I will also ask for a quotation.
