In principle, yes, but this is the size:

4962

Actually, something a bit smaller. . . . numerals about 1" to 1.5" high

The price might be more than you would like but some of these kits might work

Velleman's kit (http://www.vellemanusa.com/us/enu/product/view/?id=524723) looks the best bet so far, albeit it a big big. Qkits doesn't give the sizes, but they could also be good. Thanks so far.

Yikes! I can't believe the prices on those clock kits...

What about stealing the guts out of an off-the-shelf clock like this?:

I have a clock at my bedtable that is not radio, just clock and beep alarm, should fit pretty well in a wooden shell like that one. Brand westclox, similar to this one: http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/gadgetbargains_2056_31546247

BTW, Im kinda addicted to DX, bought a fair share of stuff there, mostly flashlight & flashlight DIY related (I build flashlights as a hobby)

Yes DX is a really neat company. Have purchased from them in the past and always was satisfied for what I paid.
