Are there any PC power supplies that are big enough to use for 4 203s?

Thanks,

RB

To get some torque and speed out of your motors you need a 70 to 75 Volt power suppy. In general, the Geckos need 24 to 80 volt. Computer supplies are only 3.3, 5, and 12 volts.

Hi Gerald. Thanks. I knew there was a problem with them.

I want to ask you a question about building my own controller.

Is the PMDX your build uses limited or not as good as the ones on CandCNC?

Are there any other cards that I might want to consider for a few more $$$?

Thanks,

RB

Richard,

Most of the builders are using the PMDX -122. It is the only one Gerald is currently giving feed back on at this time. Search some of the finished builds for others using different BOB's.

The PMDX-122 has been around a long time, it has been thoroughly de-bugged. You will find little discussion on it in forums because it works and the docs are good. The guys here can help you with snags because we know it.

How does the PMDX-122 perform compared to others? Well, they all perform exactly the same. There will be no difference in cut quality or cutting speed because of your choice of BOB.

However, the PMDX-122 is a barebones basic BOB with only the essential features. It does not give a 0-10V spindle speed output for example, but it will happily turn a router (or spindle) ON and OFF.
